RheoMinerals Inc. is a specialty clay minerals company and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lithium Americas Corp.

RheoMinerals chemically modifies several types of clay minerals at a “state-of-the-art” manufacturing facility in Fernley, Nevada, offering a full line of organophilic clay mineral products. RheoMinerals’s product line includes rheology modifiers, absorbents, flow control agents, suspending agents, and mycotoxin binders. RheoMinerals supplies products for use in the drilling fluids, industrial coatings, environmental soil remediation, industrial wastewater clean-up, and animal feed industries.

  • Frank B. Wright Jr.

    President & CEO

    Frank B. Wright Jr. brings 40 years of domestic and international experience in the clay industry. Former Director of Business Development for Rasheed Performance Minerals. Previously served as President of American Colloid Company, Vice President of AMCOL International Corp. (now Mineral Technologies), President and CEO of Bentonite Performance Minerals LLC (now a subsidiary of Halliburton Company).

  • Jerry McNamara

    Vice President of Operations

    Jerry McNamara holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Portland, and an MBA from University of Nevada (Reno) with a focus in operations and supply chain management. Previously Director of Manufacturing at Altairnano Inc., overseeing lithium titanate manufacturing operations in the US and China.

  • Michael Foust

    Manager, Business Development

    Michael Foust holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Central Arkansas. He came to RheoMinerals from Baker Hughes where he spent the last 8 years working as a Drilling Fluids Specialist and most recently as an Applications Engineer. In these roles Michael was involved in global product launches, trials, and development. His domestic and international experience with drilling fluids brings added value to RheoMinerals as the company expands its product portfolio.

  • Tom Powell

    Manager of Clay Operations

    Tom Powell holds a BA Mathematics and a BA Chemistry. He brings over 30 years’ experience in industrial minerals, specialized in clays, and organoclays. Other experience includes Product Development, Technical Service, Sales & Marketing, Plant and General Management.

  • Michael Tate

    Manager, Technical Sales

    Michael Tate holds a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He brings 11 years of Drilling/Completion Fluids experience to the team. Previously with Baker Hughes, Inc., Michael’s most recent role as an Operations Coordinator with Baker Hughes Drilling & Completion Fluids led him to work closely with customers throughout the process of product development and deployment. During his time with Baker Hughes, Michael worked with Sales and Marketing as a Technical Advisor/Applications Engineer, and had roles in the Technical Service Laboratories and Field Operations.
